Aviation emissions represent only 3% of the global total in 2022, but are expected to surge by 300-700% by 2050. Short-haul flights, constituting about 31% of all flights, contribute 40% of the industry's CO2 emissions due to their higher emissions per passenger and the fuel-intensive nature of take-off and landing compared to cruising altitudes.
Heart is building the ES-30, a 30-seat hybrid aircraft with increased range and reserve-hybrid power, flying 200 kilometres fully electric, 400 kilometres with a full load of 30 passengers, and even reach 800 kilometres with a slightly reduced capacity of 25 passengers. It’s scheduled for commercial service in 2028.
