Curing healthcare’s biggest pains: Why we've invested in Quadrivia

Our mission is to back ventures that have the potential to make a global impact at a significant scale, and healthcare is in dire need of transformation worldwide. The industry is under immense strain, with growing populations and ageing demographics driving ever-increasing demand. Yet, the supply of healthcare professionals is struggling to keep up. This is where Quadrivia comes in, aiming to reshape healthcare delivery with AI-powered clinical assistants that free up clinicians.

The Problem

Healthcare has long grappled with a fundamental mismatch between elastic demand and constrained supply. As the world’s population continues to grow and age, healthcare systems face mounting pressure. The World Health Organization predicts a shortage of 10 to 18 million healthcare workers by 2030, leading to delayed treatments, overwhelmed professionals, and millions of patients without timely, quality care.

Dr. Talec Mahmud, GP, London, and one of Quadrivia’s Medical Council Doctors:

“Being a general practitioner can feel overwhelming at times. With increasing demands on primary care, it’s easy to feel like there’s not enough space to focus on prevention—the area where healthcare can truly transform lives.”

Healthcare workers are stretched thin.

The Solution

Quadrivia is creating one of the world’s first comprehensive AI clinical assistants, Qu, built by clinicians, for clinicians and the patients they serve. Quadrivia will provide real-time, more personal, reliable support for clinical and administrative tasks. Their solution will allow healthcare professionals to focus on what truly matters—patient care.

Rebecca Love, Certified nurse, Boston, also part of Quadrivia’s Medical Council:

"As nurses, we know that the global shortage of our workforce is more than a statistic—it’s a reality we feel every day at the bedside. By capturing the full picture of what we do, Qu enables a deeper understanding of real nursing workflows and processes that keep our patients safe and the care system strong.”

Where the Funding Will Go

This pre-seed investment will fuel the ongoing development and launch of Qu. Qu is built on a robust, adaptable architecture that prioritises personalisation, safety, and precision. As healthcare is delivered in countless ways, Qu is designed to be highly customisable, allowing clinicians to tailor the assistant to their specific workflows and needs, enhancing patient care delivery.
